FH Ethiopia would like to invite potential candidates to apply for the following position for Emergency Assistance to the Conflict-Displaced IDPs and Affected Host Communities of Amhara and Benishangul-Gumuz Regions, Addressing Immediate Basic Needs and Building Resilience.
Position title: Infrastructure Facilitator (Temporary)
Duration of contract: Three Months
Principal Responsibilities
Key Result #1 –General Responsibilities
Makes the community participate in the construction activities;
Establish and follows up the participation of the community committee in the construction activities;
Collects information about the progress of completed activities and assist in handing over process of the completed constructions to the respective beneficiaries and concerned line offices;
Ensures that construction materials are properly utilized for the overall activities which are implemented via the project and cross-check the payments are properly received by the respective workers;
Promotes positive relationship with the concerned local governments;
Assists the immediate supervisor in conducting surveys and in preparing design documents for the planned construction activities;
Conducts water quality tests before and after implementation and keeps records;
Pays daily wages of laborers and organizes the record;
Prepares performance reports for the overall activities which are under the project/program in consultation with his immediate supervisor;
Performs other related duties assigned by the immediate supervisor;
Prepares working plans and schedules;
Makes available materials and other resources necessary for all construction as per the design;
Safety & Security Responsibility
⮚ Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning the safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
⮚ Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located.
⮚ Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but is not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.
⮚ Has a responsibility to become familiar with the social, cultural, and other associated features of their duty stations;
⮚ Abstains from inappropriate or offensive behavior can put FHE in a difficult position, impair operations, and jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff of FHE.
⮚ All FHE staff should promote safe-conducts and exercises caution in all work activities; staff should account for their own personal and professional actions and conduct;
Job Requirements
Requirements;
BSc in Civil Engineering, Irrigation Engineering/Hydraulic Engineering, or relevant field of study.
At least 1 Year of experience in a similar position preferably in an International NGO setting.
NGO Experience is an advantage
Computer literate, Interpersonal skills
Enthusiasm about the Heartbeat of FHE
