To support Growth through Nutrition in community nutrition social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) activities in Tigray Region.

Save the Children leads the implementation of the Growth through Nutrition project, USAID's flagship five-year multi- sectoral nutrition and Water and Sanitation (WASH) project which aims to improve the nutritional status of women and children focusing on the first 1,000 days, from onset of pregnancy through a child's second birthday - a critical period for child development.
The aim of this agreement is to establish a partnership where a local NGO (LNGO) will be responsible for supporting Growth through Nutrition’s 1000 Day Community SBCC activities focused on the adoption of behaviors and practices that lead to optimal maternal, infant, and young child nutrition.
Period of performance: September 1, 2017 to Sept 30, 2020. Geographic coverage and woreda targeting: Under this RFP, 6 woredas and 30 kebeles in Tigray Region will be targeted by the selected LNGO.
Qualifications: the following qualifications are required for consideration of proposals.
a. Must have active registration certificate to operate and work in Ethiopia/Tigary Region.
b. Minimum of five years experience in the area of community Mobilization/Community Conversation, Public Health Communication, and SBCC
c. Demonstrated ability to engage with communities and work within government structures including the Health and Agriculture Extension Programs.
d. Must have a presence in Tigray Region and have its community level networks
e. Demonstrated ability to manage donor funds with a minimum of 75,000 USD annual budget.
f. Have demonstrated infrastructure with sufficient human resource capacity and sound management systems in place to implement the project.
g. Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with local government and community level structures.
h. Excellent references from previous donors within the past three years
